We are so sorry you are going through this and your baby could not stay. The heartbreak feels utterly unbearable.

It is a heartbreak very familiar to us. Our much loved son Jack was stillborn at 38.6 weeks on the 5th of October 2021. It was sudden and unexpected. We miss him every minute of every single day and his physical absence will be forever felt.

In a lot of ways, leaving hospital was just the start of an incredibly difficult road. What we really needed to know was what to expect when going home without our much loved baby, beyond the generic pamphlets. We felt lost, overwhelmed, and lonely. The heartbreak utterly unbearable.

At first, we did not want any reminders that Jack was not here with us, we did not want anything to make this nightmare feel more real. What we felt we needed was to hear from other bereaved parents about how to survive, picture books so we could talk about Jack to his big sister Lydia, ways to include Jack in our home; ways to have him close.

Over time we slowly discovered that there were incredibly helpful resources and beautiful keepsakes out there. We collated them and put them into a hard copy companion . A little help to save you the endless scrolling and searching so you can connect quickly and find some resources or keepsakes that might resonate with you when you need them most.

Every experience is uniquely your own but we hope this companion can provide some comfort, connection and support, now and into the future. Mostly, we hope it helps you know you are not alone.

Sending all our love to you and your beautiful baby.
